Passport
You will need to obtain a passport if you do not already
have one. The Passport process can be lengthy (6 weeks) so
start right away.
The basic procedure is to fill out the application which
you can either download from the US State Department (form DS-11 for
first-timers) or have mailed to you from the National
Passport Information Center at 1-900-225-5674 (there
is a fee for calling this number). To print the
application forms on-line, you will need to download
Adobe Acrobat Reader if you do not
have it already.
You will need to fill out the form and apply in person at a
Regional Passport Agency. You will
need to supply 2 Passport photos ($8-$16 a pair - the
best option is to go to a travel agency that offers
Passport photo services), proof of US citizenship
(certified birth certificate), a check ($85 for first
time applicants - $55 for renewals), and a photo id
(driver's license).
For a complete list of all items you will need, go to

Passport.

Passport application and process, go to Passport Services and Information at
